Our Objective:
Our goal is to provide an update that focuses on useful information and high-value, actionable care. Great emphasis was given in instructing the featured lecturers to include high-value care items as part of the program developed by the American College of Physicians, in collaboration with many other organizations, in a worldwide initiative. The goal of high-value care as a teaching initiative is to improve outcomes in direct patient care by identifying care that has proven benefit but also reduces costs by avoiding unnecessary, risky or harmful procedures or interventions. This course can and often does serve as part of the general review for ABIM certification or recertification.
Course Chairs: Dr. Joseph Izzo, Professor and Exceptional Scholar in the departments of Medicine and Pharmacology at the Jacobs School of Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo and Chief of Medicine at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo Dr. Ellen Rich, Director of the Internal Medicine Multispecialty Group Clinic at the State University of New York at Buffalo
