CDC program: The Story of Diabetes
DiabetesInsight has produced a special audio program that can be downloaded for FREE by clicking on the MP3 audio file links below.
The Story of Diabetes is a 75-minute audio program* that was produced with cooperation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The interviews - which highlight a variety of diabetes prevention and education programs targeted at Native American populations - were recorded at the CDC's Diabetes Translation Conference.
Topics on this program include diabetes education in grades K through 12, diabetes prevention through traditional lifestyles, and the power of storytelling for education and transformation. It also includes a number of web addresses with a variety of free tools for diabetes prevention and education.
Though not the typical clinically-focused content of our usual programs, we believe that this information will be useful to professionals within and beyond the medical community - from educators to public health professionals to social workers. So please help us spread the word by forwarding the link to colleagues who may be interested.
